Capturing the Grand Prize at the 2001 Banff International String Quartet
Competition, the Chamber Music Society of Lincoln Center appointed them
as their young string quartet in residence for the past two seasons.
"Glorious Playing on Glorious instruments" says The Washington
Post. They will give a School Outreach program on Monday morning.
One of our all-time favorite groups of musicians, we just had to have
them back again. "...rarely has a performing ensemble given such
a compelling performance..." Houston Post. "The quartet, with
its meticulous and clear textures, sparkled." - The Pittsburgh
Press. We'll give them a warm 'welcome back'.
Wrapping up this splendiferous season will be this energetic protégé
of the Emerson, who have made a name all their own. "Their ensemble
is tight, their sound warm, their dynamic control, which seems to go
beyond a whisper, exceptional
" "The Miami Quartet played
with sweeping authority, fluency and hushed poignancy
