Escher String Quartet with Guitarist Jason Vieaux

Since its debut in 2005, the Escher String Quartet has received acclaim for its individual sound and unique cohesiveness. It has performed at prestigious venues across the U S, including Lincoln Center, the 92nd Street Y, Symphony Space in New York and the Ravinia and Caramoor Festivals. The Escher Quartet has served as the resident ensemble of a Chamber Music Society of Lincoln Center program, collaborated with such eminent artists as Andrés Diaz, Jeffrey Kahane, Pepe Romero, and Pinchas Zukerman. Within months of its inception in 2005, the Escher was invited by both Pinchas Zukerman and Itzhak Perlman to be quartet-in-residence at each artist's summer festival. In June 2009 the Escher debuted at the Bargemusic Festival in New York and continued the season with concerts at Colorado University, the University of Wyoming, the Sanibel Music Festival, Lincoln Center’s renovated Alice Tully Hall, the Kennedy Center in Washington DC, the Louvre in Paris, the National Arts Centre in Ottawa, and the Santa Fe Chamber Festival. It has served as the Ernst Stiefel String Quartet-in-Residence in Caramoor, and in 2007 joined the faculty of Stony Brook University as Visiting Artist-in-Residence in a unique relationship with the world-renowned Emerson String Quartet.

Jason VieauxOne of America’s leading guitarists, Jason Vieaux is changing the face of guitar programming and has earned a devoted international fan base along the way. He plays in excess of fifty engagements each year in the US and abroad, being a frequent guest with such orchestras as the Orchestra of Cleveland, the Fort Worth Symphony, the San Diego Symphony, the Florida Orchestra, the Chamber Orchestra of Philadelphia, and the Philharmonia in Auckland. Mr. Vieaux already has ten recordings to his credit and many more to come under his multi-record deal with Azica Records. He currently resides in Cleveland, Ohio.
