Listening to a lovely young woman produce lovely melodies and complex
harmonies from a piano with remarkable technique as well as a force and
vigor that belies her willowy build is a very pleasant way to spend a
Sunday afternoon. Thus Soyeon Lee's solo performance was a rich treat
for the people who attended the third in this season's Friends of Music
concert series on November 5.

One of the finest chamber ensembles in America came to Newtown last week. The Los Angeles Piano Quartet, which tours throughout North America and has performed in many of the great halls of Europe, came to Edmond Town Hall on Sunday, March 9, for a concert put on by Newtown Friends of Music. The quartet has appeared at Newtown Friends of Music concerts twice before, each time to rave reviews, so its return was eagerly anticipated.

NEWTOWN - Newtown Friends of Music presented Daedalus String Quartet in a heartfelt program at Edmond Town Hall that could be taken as a sort of early Valentine’s Day present. The program featured quartets sharing similar elements and influences, while beating to the different drums of three composers.
