The Aulos Ensemble returned to Newtown after an absence of several years to perform a program entitled “Music at Versailles: A Royal Entertainment” at Edmond Town Hall on Sunday, November 6. This was the last in the fall concerts put on by Newtown Friends of Music; the spring concerts will begin after the holidays, on Sunday, February 12.

About six times a year, Newtown Friends of Music brings distinguished chamber performers to our town's living room, Edmond Town Hall. The concert presented on Sunday, October 23, featured the cellist Carter Brey and the pianist Christopher O'Riley playing works by Robert Schumann and Frederic Chopin.

Newtown Friends of Music opened their 34th season with exquisite music, superbly performed including a world premiere of a work commissioned for the tenth anniversary of the 9/11 tragedy. Oboist Peggy Pearson and her string ensemble “Winsor Music” created interesting tonalities and timbres in their performance last Sunday at Edmond Town Hall.
